Privacy Notice
How the Group collects, uses and protects personal data through this website.
Overview
This notice explains how AlBabtain Group of Companies collects, uses and protects personal data through albabtaingroup.com. It applies to visitors to the website, to applicants who apply through the Careers page and to anyone who contacts the Group through the Contact page. It does not cover other websites, including those of the Group’s companies.
The website is operated by Al Surouh Holding Company K.S.C.C., Abdulaziz AlBabtain Tower, Salhiya, Kuwait City, which is responsible for the personal data collected through it. Where an application or enquiry is passed to one of the Group’s companies, that company is also responsible for how it uses the data. In this notice, “the Group” means AlBabtain Group of Companies, including Al Surouh Holding Company K.S.C.C. and the Group’s companies.
Personal Data Collected
The Careers form collects your name, email address, telephone number, the company and position you are interested in, your CV and any additional information you provide. The Contact form collects your name, organisation, email address, telephone number if given, the subject and related company of your enquiry, and your message.
When you visit the website, technical information is also collected automatically by the website’s servers: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit and the website that referred you.
The website also uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use it. With your consent, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location (city or country). The Group uses this information only in aggregate and not to identify you.
The Group does not ask for sensitive personal data, such as information about health, religion or political opinions, through this website.
Use of Personal Data
Applications are used to assess your suitability for a role, to contact you about it and, unless you ask otherwise, to consider you for other openings across the Group. Enquiries are used to respond to you and to direct your enquiry to the right company. Technical information is used to operate, secure and improve the website. Personal data may also be used to comply with the law and to protect the Group’s legal rights. By submitting the Careers or Contact form, you agree to your personal data being used in this way.
The Group does not sell personal data and does not use data collected through this website for marketing.
Sharing
Personal data is shared only with the Group’s companies where an application or enquiry concerns them; with service providers that host the website and provide email and IT services, and that may use the data only on the Group’s instructions; with professional advisers, courts and authorities where the law requires it or to protect the Group’s rights; and, if the Group reorganises or sells any part of its business, with the parties involved, on the same terms as this notice. Website usage data is also shared with Google, which provides the website’s analytics service.
Storage
Personal data is held by the Group in Kuwait and may also be stored by its service providers outside Kuwait. Where this happens, the Group takes reasonable contractual, technical and organisational measures to keep the data protected.
Retention
Applications and CVs are kept for 24 months from receipt, so that applicants can be considered for future openings, unless deletion is requested sooner. Enquiries are kept for 12 months after they have been dealt with, unless they lead to an ongoing business relationship. Technical information is kept only as long as it is needed. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Personal data is then deleted or anonymised, unless the law requires it to be kept for longer.
Security
The Group uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. The website uses an encrypted connection, and access to applications and enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Your Rights
Subject to the laws of the State of Kuwait, you may ask for a copy of the personal data the Group holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or ask that your CV no longer be considered for other openings. Requests can be sent to [email protected] with the subject “Personal data request”, and are answered within 30 days. The Group may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Cookies
The website uses two types of cookies: essential cookies, which it needs to work, and analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which help the Group understand how the website is used. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie Settings” link at the bottom of every page. The website does not use advertising cookies. Cookies can also be blocked or deleted in your browser settings, although some parts of the website may then not work as intended.
Children
The website is not intended for anyone under 18, and the Group does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Any such data identified is deleted.
Other Websites
The website links to other websites, including those of the Group’s companies, partners and social media platforms. The Group is not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
