CAIRO, 20 February 2024 – The Abdulaziz Saud AlBabtain Cultural Foundation has opened the third World Forum for the Culture of Just Peace in Cairo. The three‑day forum, held under the theme “Just Peace for Development”, is under the patronage of the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi, and is organised with Egypt’s Supreme Council for Culture.
The forum brought together political leaders, former ministers, diplomats and scholars from around the world. Over six sessions, they discussed peace and political, institutional, social, cultural and economic development.
The forum closed with recommendations that include quality, forward‑looking education as the foundation of a just peace; laws that support private‑sector growth, saving and investment; the use of modern technology to serve the public; and culture as a defence against intolerance and extremism.
The forum paid tribute to the Foundation’s founder, the late Abdulaziz Saud AlBabtain, for his life’s work in support of Arab culture and peace. Saud Abdulaziz AlBabtain, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, pledged to continue his father’s mission.
